Just thought I'd give everyone a heads-up about what's going on in my life currently.

1: My desktop is still broken. This means I am still unable to doll, or create any new bases until it is fixed.

2: I lost all of the files that I had stored on my domain. What this means is that except for the ones nice people have sent me, I have lost all of my old bases!

I am working on uploading the ones people have sent me to my pixistar account. Available uckie"here! If you have a base saved that isn't listed there yet, please feel free to send it to me! You can PM me for my email address.

3: Lately, the moderation at one of the places I hang out has been driving me nuts.

More specifically, the lack of moderation. It seems strange to me that action was only taken after the issue was taken outside of the place in question. As a former moderator and admin, I'd like to say that it shouldn't ever have to come to the issue being taken outside of your aegis. It smacks of laziness and people pleasing.

Sure, you want to be liked by everyone! But that isn't your job. Your job is to keep the space safe for all members, and if multiple members are made to feel unsafe by one individual, then that person needs to be taken out. I know that I personally complained multiple times, and that others have as well.

Why was this only taken care of after it had gotten out of hand?

I won't talk specifically about this issue on this journal -- as that would violate the privacy of those involved -- so if you'd like to discuss this with me, please do so by PM.

4. I hope to be back up and running soon! It makes me sad that I haven't been able to participate in the community as much as I would like.

THE INITIATIVE
In light of recent events, I have decided that I will start a PROJECT, dedicated to everyone who likes my bases. This account is a little empty, as I'm sure you'll agree.

So! There are thirteen weeks until the end of the year, and my goal is to create and post at least one new base per week until New Years 2010.

I think this is a reasonable goal. Consider it a reverse New Years Resolution. I will do my best to update this journal with each new base as I finish it.

WEEK 01: THE GENERAL - In progress! This will be an expansion on the human figure in my LOLARMY base, with different poses and expressions.

You may use any of my bases, for any purpose, provided that:
      You do not distribute them.
      You link back to this dA account.
      You understand that I reserve the right to revoke permission at any point.
By using my bases, you agree to follow these rules!

Okay, you guys! There seems to be some confusion going around regarding base rules. I thought maybe I could help clear some of it up.

For starters, here are my rules. You have my permission to use my bases, provided that:
      You do not redistribute them.
      And that you post a link to when you post a work done on one of my bases.
I also reserve the right to revoke this permission at any time.

My rules could be a lot more restrictive. For example: I could disallow all commercial use of my work, or disallow edits of any form.

Now for the complicated part: The rules on a base can be considered a license giving you permission to use the work. You are not entitled to use a base just because it is posted on the internet. Think of bases like a stock image, you are given license to use the base or stock image for the purposes outlined and not for anything else.

The rules are there to protect the copyright of the artist; they are not there to ruin your day or to demand anything of you other than what is stated.

EDIT II: Also, I just thought I'd mention this. Please continue to link me to any dolls any of you make on my bases! I love seeing them all, so even if I don't comment please know that I appreciate the fact that people like my bases enough to use them a lot!
